Thanks to all the lodges who are now or have started the process of implementing the CLMS software. I know it is a challenge for some to change and I certainly appreciate your acceptance of what is inevitable, change. Our order is trying to take steps to bring the management of our membership into the present. We now live in an era of growing technology. Most of our new, young members can not remember a time without some type of computer in the home. Every facet of business is moving more and more the computers. It only makes since that for us to survive, we have to do the same. For some of the older secretaries, I know that this change is not coming easy, and in some instances the changes are being made with the secretary kicking and screaming in the background. I would only ask that you secretaries be patient. Don't give up!! This new system is going to lighten the load. After the initial shock of having to input all the information into a computer, things will settle down. It will not be as bad once you are up and running and have a little "experience" using the software. It is important for us secretaries to hang in there and get this done. The secretary is a vital part of the operation of the lodge. An experienced secretary is an invaluable asset that is not always easily replaced. Your lodge needs your patients and wisdom during this time. Find a cyber-assistant in your lodge that will help you put the info in. It is not really very difficult and with very little "practice", you will be able to move easily thru the process. As of today, we only have 4 lodges that have not logged in with the Grand Lodge and are using the program. There are also 7 lodges that have not done a backup to the Grand Lodge. If you fall in either of these categories, time is running out. We have already been told by our Sponsor that lodges that do not implement the software will be addressed. I don't think any of us want that, especially when it is something that we can control. If you are not sure if you are one of the lodges mentioned above, send me an email. I will tell you where your lodge stands and help you get the process started. My email is d_e_robbins@bellsouth.net. We are getting very close to 100% participation. Now is the time! |

We are almost half way there. We now have 15 Lodges in the state that are online with the Grand Lodge and the new CLMS membership software. Thanks to those lodges and especially the secretaries and their "helpers" for making the effort to bring your lodge up to speed. Your job as the secretary is going to be greatly improved as you become more familiar with the software and after the initial shock of having to input all that information. The amount of paperwork now required by the Grand Lodge is going to start to shrink and very soon, there will be very little reporting done. It will all be up to date and available via your backup to the Grand Lodge. For those 16 lodges who have not started using the software, don't wait to long. The inputting of your membership information can be a time consuming process. And the Grand Lodge has stated that the November membership report is to be submitted thru the CLMS software. Remember, we will be having a secretary training session at the mid year convention. We would like to use this time to work on some of the additional advantages the software has.

| TEA bulletin |
Beginning with the next issue of the TEA News Bulletin, you will see a new section devoted to the history of the Lodges of Tennessee. As I know very little (or nothing at all) about any Lodge except Lawrenceburg, someone from your Lodge will need to submit this information. I plan to include pictures, but keep in mind the Bulletin is only eight pages and there are other news items to report( I'm sure the State president will request space). These will be published on a first received basis. E-mail to me at wowoxl@yahoo.com.
