Although the original beauty of the Elks National Headquarters and Veterans Memorial Building has been fully restored, there continues to be a financial need to keep the building from ever reverting to the condition is was before the Five Million Dollar restoration project was commenced.

A Memorial Building Trust was established to take care of major repairs and to keep the building in its restored brilliance, but the Trust need our donations so that we will have the funds to take care of these needs when they arise. Donations from $100 to $249 will receive a beautiful, formal acknowledgement certificate, and a copy of the "Story of Elkdom". Donations from $250 or more will be gratefully acknowledged with a beautiful certificate, and a copy of "History of the Order of Elks" ( a 500+ hard-bound book chronologically reviewing the Order from February 16, 1868 through the Lodge year 1987-88). The job will never be completed and we ask for and encourage your ongoing support.

Since the rededication of this Memorial in July of 1994, over a million dollars has been spent to complete the work then in progress. These funds were taken from that portion of the Trust, which was intended to be a reserve for continuing maintenance. We are asking the Lodges to consider a fund-raising activity for the Trust.

When you visit the city of Chicago, a tour of the Elks Veterans Memorial Building should be on your itinerary. You will walk in awe through this magnificent structure, and your cherished memories of its beauty will add to the many reasons why you are proud to be an Elk.

The Elks Veterans Memorial Building stands as a striking example that helps spread the word "ELKS CARE - ELKS SHARE"
